No, not at all. Even though the initial cost might be a bit higher than off-the-shelf products, in the long term our products are very cost effective
It is still expensive if they lose them.
That is right, but they will not lose them. As it is a personalised product which is more comfortable for hours of wear, the employee will look after their earplugs. In reality it is less then one percent that ever gets lost. There is also the option to have a cord attached between the earplugs to prevent ‘dropping’ when removed from the ear. A clipped pouch is provided for storage when the earplugs are not in use.
What are the benefits for my company?
- Better compliance from employees, as they will like to use Insta-Mold earplugs as the skin-to-skin protection creates no pressure points on the inner ear (as with foam plugs) or externally on the side of the head (as with earmuffs).
- They cannot be used incorrectly. When they are worn, you get the right protection. They cannot be inserted halfway or incorrectly. The protection is not compromised when used in combination with other safety gear like glasses, hats, caps, beanies, helmets, face shields, or even respiratory masks.
- As noise is a stress factor, the continuous use of hearing protection is important, otherwise the human body will react on these stress signals. Apart from hearing problems, constant, repetitive noise is also fatiguing, causes headaches/ migraines and in some circumstances, raise blood pressure.
- For shift workers, the earplugs can be worn for sleeping, which also helps the employee to be better rested for the next shift.
Do they comply with the regulations of Occupational, Safety & Health Department (OSH)?
Yes they do, the earplugs have been tested in accordance with, and have, an AS/NZS 1270-1999 Standard rating of Class 4.
Do I get guarantee?
Yes, the hearing protectors come with a one year’s guarantee for the workmanship, but does not cover misuse by the owner. In some circumstances, minor repairs can be made without interfering with the protection level of the earplug.
How long do they last?
We state four to seven years of use. The ears continue to grow as we age but the earplugs can be recoated with the silicone koter (as is done at the time of making), to reinstate the security of the original fit, therefore providing longevity.
Can they be cleaned?
Yes with warm soapy water or a ‘wet wipe’.
Are they hygienic to use?
Yes, as they are handled less than most other earplugs during the day.
We are in the food industry, can we use them?
Yes, the earplugs can be fitted with a metal detection ball for tracing with detection equipment.
How do we get them?
We fit them on-site during work hours and provide full instructions on use and care.
